Albuquerque Child Behavior & Mental Health Assessments

Diagnosing Child Behavior

A dramatic drop in grades, defiant behavior, and social adjustment are common problems among children with a behavioral problem. At High Desert Pediatrics, our board-certified pediatricians can identify and diagnose your child’s behavioral issue by performing child behavioral assessments. This usually involves observing the child and discussing concerns with the parents.

As your primary care provider, we assess behavioral issues such as:

  • ADHD
  • DEPRESSION
  • ANXIETY
  • SLEEP DISORDER (not always psych issue)
  • LEARNING/SPEECH DELAY
  • AUTISM

Some of them we also treat (typically ADHD), while others are very complex issues, so we refer patients out to specialists, such as psychiatrists, therapy offices, etc. We are not the specialists on those issues. We are bridging you and the specialists.
